Chennai, 23 April (H.S.) : PMK leader S Ramadoss has urged the formation of a commission to ensure the effective implementation of 69% reservation in Tamil Nadu. This demand comes in the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent judgment regarding reservations, which has sparked discussions about the future of quota systems in the state.
The proposed commission would play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the reservation policy, ensuring that the benefits reach the intended sections of society. Ramadoss emphasized the need for a robust mechanism to implement the reservation policy, given the Supreme Court’s recent judgment.
Tamil Nadu has been granted an exemption to continue its 69% reservation policy, despite the Supreme Court’s general guideline that reservations should not exceed 50%. Ramadoss’s demand highlights the ongoing debate about reservations in Tamil Nadu and the need for a clear framework to implement the policy effectively.
