Nalbari (Assam), 2 May (HS): The atmosphere got heated on Friday during the visit of Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi to Nalbari. Local people raised slogans in protest in his presence.

People were raising slogans of Gaurav Gogoi Murdabad, Pakistan Murdabad etc. Later, while talking to the media, the protesters said that the way Pakistanis killed Hindus in Kashmir can never be tolerated. Gaurav is going to Pakistan, that is why we are opposing him.

Some people registered their protest by showing black flags. Slogans of ‘Murdabad’ were raised. The police force was deployed at the spot so that the situation remains under control.

Gaurav Gogoi had reached Nalbari to participate in the election program, but the atmosphere became tense due to the protest.
