Punjab Kings pick Mitch Owen as replacement for injured Maxwell

New Delhi, May 4 (H.S.): The excitement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 continues. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have added a new player to their roster. The franchise has included Australian player Mitch Owen in their squad. Owen has been selected as the replacement for the injured all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.

According to a statement issued by the IPL on Sunday, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have chosen all-rounder Mitch Owen in place of Glenn Maxwell, who is out for the remainder of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a finger injury. Mitch Owen will join PBKS for 3 crore rupees.

Mitch Owen from Tasmania, Australia, has played 34 T20 matches and scored 646 runs, including two centuries and a highest score of 108. The Australian all-rounder also has 10 T20 wickets to his name.

Punjab Kings are currently in fourth place in the IPL 2025 points table with 6 wins from 10 matches. Punjab faces Lucknow Super Giants tonight.
