Madrid, June 20 (H.S.): On Thursday, Spain’s King Felipe VI bestowed the noble title of ‘Marquis’ upon tennis legend Rafael Nadal for his remarkable contributions to sports and national pride. An official statement praised Nadal as a source of inspiration for Spain. The title, ‘Marquis of Llavanter de Mallorca,’ commemorates his home island and will be hereditary for his descendants. Nadal, who retired last year, is a 22-time Grand Slam champion and holds a record 14 French Open titles. He was also honored with a permanent footprint at Roland Garros last month, solidifying his legacy.
