Rahul Gandhi at Bharat Summit

Hyderabad, 26 April (H.S.): Former Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi remarked on Saturday that world politics has undergone significant changes in the last decade, particularly due to modern social media. Speaking at the Bharat Summit in Hyderabad, he shared insights from his 4,000-kilometer journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, emphasizing the importance of understanding the people’s issues. He noted that during this march, many joined him, highlighting a disconnection between leaders and the populace.

Gandhi highlighted the necessity for a new generation to engage in politics, suggesting that the current leadership has failed to resonate with the youth. He expressed his belief that politicians should adapt to the new generation’s language and priorities, advocating for the encouragement and development of young leaders.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who also addressed the gathering, criticized the past decade’s leadership in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Telangana. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing these needs through various initiatives, such as the largest loan waiver program for farmers, which has forgiven approximately Rs 20,000 crores in loans. He also mentioned that farmers receive continuous free electricity, along with financial support under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, underscoring the government’s efforts to uplift all sections of society.
