New Delhi, 19 May (H.S.) : Rahul Gandhi has intensified his criticism of the central government and Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar by questioning why Pakistan was notified prior to a recent military attack. He labeled this act a ‘crime’ and demanded accountability for the number of Indian aircraft lost due to prior warnings given to Pakistan. Gandhi highlighted his concerns in a recent post on X, reiterating on Monday, Jaishankar’s silence is condemnable, and emphasized the need for transparency regarding any military losses.
In response, Jaishankar explained that the communication was intended to inform Pakistan of the targeting of terrorist infrastructure rather than their military, suggesting that Pakistan had the choice not to intervene. The Congress party further engaged in this debate, with spokesperson Pawan Khera criticizing Jaishankar’s approach. Khera questioned the wisdom of trusting Pakistan to convey this information without risks, dubbing it espionage rather than diplomacy. He also pointed out that prior notifications have historically allowed targets like Masood Azhar to evade capture.
