Mumbai, August 29(HS):
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani declared on Friday that Reliance has become the first Indian company to surpass $125 billion in annual revenue, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s corporate landscape. Addressing RIL’s 48th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, Ambani highlighted the company’s robust contribution of ₹2.1 lakh crore (approximately $25 billion) to India’s economy in the fiscal year 2024-25, underscoring its pivotal role in the country’s growth story.
Ambani expressed confidence that Reliance would continue to break its own records while playing a vital role in driving India’s development forward. The telecom arm, Reliance Jio, is slated to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the first half of 2026, Ambani announced. The company is also set to expand its international footprint and develop its proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, further strengthening its global ambitions.
For the fiscal year 2024-25, Reliance reported consolidated revenue of ₹10,71,174 crore (roughly $125.3 billion), an unprecedented feat for any Indian company. The group posted an EBITDA of ₹1,83,422 crore ($21.5 billion) and a net profit of ₹81,309 crore ($9.5 billion). Reliance’s exports stood at ₹2,83,719 crore ($33.2 billion), contributing 7.6 percent to India’s total merchandise exports.
Despite geopolitical uncertainties, Ambani emphasized India’s unstoppable growth trajectory. Over the past three years, Reliance has invested more than ₹5.6 lakh crore ($65.5 billion) across its business verticals. The company became the country’s largest taxpayer in FY 2024-25, contributing ₹2,10,269 crore ($24.6 billion) to the national exchequer. Cumulatively, over six years, Reliance’s contribution to government revenues has crossed ₹10 lakh crore ($117 billion).
On corporate social responsibility, Reliance invested ₹2,156 crore ($252 million) in FY 2024-25, with total CSR spending exceeding ₹5,000 crore ($585 million) over the past three years, supporting education, healthcare, and social welfare programs. Ambani noted that Reliance currently employs approximately 680,000 people directly and indirectly, aiming to surpass one million employees in coming years, reflecting the company’s sustained commitment to job creation.
