
New York, June 27(HS): Bill Moyers, a senior American TV journalist and former White House associate, died at 91 on Thursday after a prolonged illness. His son, William, reported his passing at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.
Moyers, who had a notable connection with President Lyndon B. Johnson, began his television career in 1971, following his role as Johnson’s chief advisor and press secretary. He spent a decade at CBS News, serving as editor of CBS Reports and analyst for CBS Evening News, and was a commentator on NBC Nightly News. He launched PBS’s iconic Bill Moyers Journal in 1972 and received over 30 Emmy Awards throughout his career. PBS President Paula Kerger honored him as a forever champion for the network.
