Kolkata, 2 April (H.S.): The West Bengal Higher Secondary Education Council has come up with a practical solution to the minor changes in the English syllabus of Class 12. Class XII students will not be given new English textbooks and will have to use the books of Class 11. The council has announced that the revised syllabus material will be available on their official website. Students can download it from there and continue their studies. According to Council President Chiranjeev Bhattacharya, this revised syllabus, which includes two new stories and a play, will be uploaded online, making it easier for students to access it.

However, this solution may not be equally accessible to everyone. Internet availability or downloading ability may be a challenge for some students and teachers. Parents also pointed out that publishers’ supplementary books are available in the market, which include new stories and plays. This may be an alternative way, but it is not financially possible for every family to buy an additional book. In such a situation, downloading the material from the website will be the primary option for students who cannot afford the reference books.

In addition, additional steps can be taken by the council or schools to ensure that the new material reaches all students. For example, schools can encourage teachers to provide printed copies of the downloaded material, so that those who do not have internet facility are not affected. This will help reduce the anxiety of teachers and parents.

With regard to Sanskrit books, council officials have assured that these books will be available in the market by the beginning of this month. However, there is discontent among students due to the delay, and the question remains as to what more can be done to speed up the publication process.

Overall, downloading from the website is the most accessible and free option right now for the revised syllabus of English.
