Panaji, 13 March (H.S.): The Government of India has taken a significant step towards achieving self-sufficiency in critical minerals by launching the country’s first-ever auction of Exploration Licences (ELs).
This auction, which was launched by Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, includes 13 exploration blocks for minerals that are essential for various industries.
The government’s decision to open up these blocks for exploration will not only boost domestic production but also reduce the country’s dependence on imports. This move is in line with the government’s vision of making India a leading global player in the mining sector and promoting ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’ It is a significant milestone that will not only contribute to the growth of the mining sector but also enhance the country’s economic growth.
