New Delhi, 21 April (H.S.): Rajasthan Royals face a significant setback in IPL 2025 as captain Sanju Samson will miss the key match against Royal Challengers Bangalore due to injury, confirmed by the franchise on Monday.
The statement revealed that Sanju is in recovery and will stay with the medical staff at the team’s base instead of traveling to Bangalore. This injury follows discomfort he experienced during the match against Delhi Capitals, leading to a scan that ruled him out of the recent game against Lucknow Super Giants.
Riyan Parag will assume captaincy in Sanju’s absence, having led the team earlier this season when Sanju was sidelined due to a finger injury. Sanju has scored 224 runs at an average of 37.33 in 7 matches, making his absence a critical loss for the Royals.
