New Delhi, May 2 (H.S.): Rajasthan Royals have received a big setback in IPL 2025. The team’s experienced fast bowler Sandeep Sharma is out for the remaining matches of the tournament. The franchise confirmed on Thursday that Sandeep has suffered a fracture in his finger and will not be able to play further.
31-year-old Sandeep Sharma sustained this injury during the match played against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur. While trying to stop a shot from Shubman Gill off his own bowling, he fractured his finger. Despite this, he showed courage and bowled the remaining 8 balls of his spell. Rajasthan Royals released a statement saying, The courage with which Sandeep bowled despite his injury is commendable. We wish him a speedy recovery.
In IPL 2025, Sandeep Sharma has taken 9 wickets in 10 matches, with an economy rate of 9.89. In the previous match against Mumbai Indians, Akash Madhwal was included in the team in his place.
The Rajasthan Royals team management is now working on finding a replacement for Sandeep. The franchise has stated that a new player will be announced soon to take his place. Currently, the Royals team is still in the race for the playoffs, so Sandeep’s absence could be a cause for concern for the team.
