Delhi, 13 October (H.S.): Social and religious organizations are stepping forward to aid families affected by the severe floods in North India. In a unique initiative, the Sanatan Nyas Foundation is organizing the ‘Sanatan Cricket League’ (SCL), an event designed to merge sport with service, with all proceeds dedicated to flood relief efforts.
The event is scheduled for October 18, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the Karnail Singh Stadium in Paharganj, New Delhi. This year, exceptionally heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand has impacted thousands of families, destroying homes, essential belongings, and livelihoods.
With hundreds still residing in relief camps and attempting to rebuild their lives, the foundation aims to garner widespread support through this special league. The tournament will feature eight teams from across the country competing in a T-20 format.
The matches will be broadcast live on social media platforms and YouTube channels to maximize reach and encourage participation in the fundraising campaign. Spectators and invited guests will also have the opportunity to make financial contributions on-site to support the flood victims.
A distinctive feature of the event will be the presence of four prominent spiritual leaders who will lend their support to the public service campaign. The participating saints include Devaki Nandan Thakur Maharaj, founder of the Shri Priyakant ju Temple in Vrindavan; Dhirendra Krishna Shastri Maharaj, the Peethadhishwar of Bageshwar Dham; Indresh Upadhyay Maharaj, a renowned Saras Katha exponent; and Chinmayanand Bapu Maharaj, a respected Ramkatha exponent.
The Sanatan Nyas Foundation has announced that entry to the event will be completely free. The organizing committee’s goal is to raise as much support as possible through this platform to provide tangible relief and rehabilitation assistance to the affected families.
This is not just a sports competition, but a service campaign that will send a message of sensitivity, cooperation, and unity in society, said representatives of the foundation. They have appealed to citizens to join the event and extend a helping hand to the families grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.
