Servant Murdered at PK Banerjee’s Salt Lake Residence, Driver Arrested

Kolkata, 15 March (H.S.) -A shocking incident has emerged from Salt Lake, Kolkata, where a servant was murdered at the residence of former Indian footballer PK Banerjee. The police have arrested the house driver on charges of murder. The crime reportedly took place following an argument while consuming alcohol.

After PK Banerjee’s demise, his daughters reside at their GD Block home in Salt Lake. However, at the time of the incident, no family members were present in the house. During this time, the household servant, Gupinath Praharaj, and the driver, Barun Ghosh, were drinking together.

According to police sources, a dispute broke out between them while drinking, which quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, Barun Ghosh went to the kitchen, grabbed a sharp knife, and launched a brutal attack on Gupinath. Before Gupinath could react, Barun stabbed him multiple times, leaving him severely injured.

As soon as the police were alerted, they rushed to the spot and immediately transported the critically injured servant to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The Bidhannagar South Police Station has arrested the accused driver, Barun Ghosh, who will be presented in court on Saturday. Investigators are now trying to determine the exact cause of the dispute and whether there was any previous enmity between the two.

Police officials believe that further questioning of the accused may reveal crucial details about the incident.
