Mumbai, 12 Mar (HS):-
Seven students going to London using fake documents were held by the
Immigration Department at Mumbai Airport. The agent who had finalised their
visit was also arrested. The case came to the fore alertness of a security
guard.
The security
personnel questioned two suspected travellers while issuing the boarding pass. First, they claimed to be a student and teacher from a university in Haryana. However,
they could not produce any relevant document supporting their claim. Further
interrogation revealed information about six others going with them. They had
planned to go to London via Jeddah. All were handed over to the crime branch of the police.
Their agent had charged Rs 20 lakh each for
preparing fake documents and obtaining visitor visas.
Offences under Sections 143, 318 (4), 336 (2), 336
(3), and 340 (2) of Bharatiya Nyay Samhita and Section 12 of Immigration Law have
been registered.
