Silver Soars to Record Highs, Gold Slips Marginally in Bullion Market

New Delhi, September 29 (HS): The bullion market witnessed a sharp divergence today as silver prices surged dramatically while gold registered a slight decline. Silver jumped by nearly ₹7,000 per kilogram, taking its price close to the ₹1.5 lakh mark, setting a fresh record of strength.

Conversely, gold saw only a mild dip, with both 24-carat and 22-carat varieties trading marginally lower across major markets in India.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold traded at ₹1,15,620 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,05,990 per 10 grams. Mumbai recorded slightly lower rates, with 24-carat gold at ₹1,15,470 and 22-carat gold at ₹1,05,840 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,15,520 and 22-carat gold at ₹1,05,890 per 10 grams.Other metropolitan markets reflected a consistent trend.

In Chennai and Kolkata, 24-carat gold was at ₹1,15,470 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,05,840. Lucknow and Jaipur saw higher levels, with 24-carat gold quoted at ₹1,15,620 and 22-carat at ₹1,05,990. Patna also witnessed 24-carat gold at ₹1,15,520 and 22-carat gold at ₹1,05,890 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, in southern and eastern markets including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, gold traded at slightly lower levels, with 24-carat at ₹1,15,470 and 22-carat at ₹1,05,840 per 10 grams.On the other hand, silver stole the spotlight.

Benefiting from a strong rally, silver prices skyrocketed to ₹1,48,900 per kilogram in Delhi’s bullion market, reflecting renewed investor demand and making the bright metal the clear outperformer of the day.
