Six arrested for printing, circulating fake currency notes in Thane

Mumbai, 08 May (HS); Thane Police have recovered

fake currency notes worth Rs 45.50 lakh from Bhiwandi. Six people were arrested

in this connection.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Amar Sinh Jadhav, information about fake currency

notes in circulation was received by the Crime Branch. Information about

suspects in fake currency notes was also received. On May 3, PI

Dhanraj Kedar and colleagues arrested three suspects, Suraj Tanaji Shende,

Bharat Balku Sase, and Swapnil Jagdidh Patil with 60 bundles of Rs 500 notes.

The three revealed names of three other accomplice in the racket. On May 5,

Ramdas Shalik Dalve, Vijay Sudama Karnekar, and Shekhar Ramdas were also

arrested. Fake currency notes worth Rs 15.50 lakh were seized from their

possession. Police also seized a printer and paper used for printing the fake

currency notes.

Thane police are investigating the racket

operating in the region.
