Imphal, 12 April (HS): Manipur Police and security forces have arrested six outfits of different rebel groups in operations conducted at different places. Threat letters and mobile phones have been recovered from the arrested persons.

Manipur Police official sources said on Saturday that a KCP (PWG) outfit, Mohammad Ashadoon alias Talip alias Langam (22) has arrested from Urup Awang Leikai area under Irilbung police station in Imphal East.

In another operation, another outfit of KCP (PWG) rebel group Mangsidam Wanglen Singh alias Thauna (22) was arrested from Lei Ingkhol Maning Leikai under Lampel police station area in Imphal West district. He was involved in demanding money from shops around Pommei Colony area. Nine threat letters of KCP (PWG) were seized from him.

Besides, security forces arrested Moirangthem Suranjay Meitei alias Thausinba (31), a cadre of KYKL outfit from the eastern side of Lamlong Bazar under Porampat police station area of Imphal East district. A mobile phone was seized from him.

In another drive, Hansanpiek Vaiphei alias Hansen (23), a resident of Singda Kuki village under Kangchup police station area of Kangpokpi district was caught while extorting money from a truck driver near IT Road, Trends Mall. A mobile phone was also seized from him.

Along with this, Leichombam Pakpi Devi (37), an active woman cadre of KYKL (Sorepa) was arrested from Leimeram Mamang Leikai area under Nambol police station area. She was involved in recruiting new cadres in the outfit and extortion. Two mobile phones were seized from her.

In the last action, Angom Surjeet Singh alias Jojo alias Chenglei (34), an outfit from PREPAK (Pro) was arrested from Phayeng Sabal Leikai area under Lamsang police station area of Imphal West district.

All the arrested persons are being interrogated and further investigation is underway.
