Seoul, June 03 (HS): South Korea holds a presidential by-election, with voting starting at 6 AM at 14,295 polling stations today. This election follows the removal of former President Yoon Suk-yeol by the Constitutional Court in April. The new president will assume office on Wednesday and serve until June 2030. Voting concludes at 8 PM, after which ballot counting will begin at 254 stations, with results anticipated after midnight. About 44.39 million citizens are eligible to vote. In recent early voting, Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party garnered around 49% of the votes, while his main rival, Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party, trails behind.
