Lucknow,
21 April (HS): Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has strongly
condemned BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s recent remarks on former Chief Election
Commissioner SY Quraishi. Yadav said that Dubey’s words denigrated a former
respected constitutional official and advocated for greater decorum in public
discourse. Yadav turned to social media to warn that Dubey, who has received
criticism within his own party for prior inflammatory statements, should avoid
causing unneeded issue over the retiring public official. This comes after Dubey’s disputed accusation
that throughout his tenure, Quraishi behaved in favor of a certain community. Yadav
also accused the BJP of indulging in numerous election malpractices, citing
instances of suspected manipulation and intimidation in areas including as
Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. He
further said that internal party disagreements and corruption might lead to the
BJP’s destruction.
