
Dehradun, March 13 (H.S.): A speeding Mercedes car hit four laborers walking on foot and a scooter near the Uttaranchal Hospital in the Rajpur police station area of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Four laborers died on the spot, while two others with serious injuries have been admitted to Doon Hospital. The driver of the car has fled. It has been reported that late Wednesday night, the driver of a Chandigarh-registered Mercedes drove dangerously and hit four laborers walking on foot.
The victims, identified as Mansaram (30), Ranjit (35), and two others who remain unknown, were said to be from the Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh. After hitting the pedestrians, the car also crashed into a scooter. The passengers on the scooter, Dhaniram and Mohammad Shakeeb, both residents of Bihar, were injured. They are receiving treatment at Doon Government Hospital. The police are searching for the car’s driver. Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh inspected the accident site.
