Stock market decline in early trading; Sensex, Nifty drop

Delhi, 11 July (H.S.): In early trading, there is pressure on the stock market, with Sensex and Nifty declining.

New Delhi, July 11 (H.S.): The domestic stock market is exhibiting a downward trend amid volatility this morning. The session opened weakly, with an initial surge due to buying support quickly followed by selling pressure leading to a decline. By 10 AM, the Sensex was down 0.32 percent, and the Nifty was down 0.28 percent.

Among large-cap stocks, Hindustan Unilever, IndusInd Bank, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Consumer Products, and Axis Bank saw gains ranging from 4.42 percent to 0.62 percent, while TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, and Hindalco declined between 1.92 percent and 1.21 percent. Out of 2,401 actively traded stocks, 1,317 were in the green, and 1,084 were in the red. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 12 showed gains while 18 faced selling pressure.

The BSE’s Sensex opened at 82,820.76 points, down by 369.52 points, fluctuating between 83,040.74 points and 82,791.83 points. The NSE’s Nifty opened down 99.75 points at 25,255.50, later fluctuating between 25,322.45 points and 25,244 points. By 10 AM, the Sensex was at 82,921.52 points, down 268.76 points, and the Nifty was at 25,283.45 points, down 71.80 points. On the previous day, the Sensex closed at 83,190.28 points, down 345.80 points, while the Nifty ended at 25,355.25 points, down 120.85 points.
