Stock market declines in early trading today

New Delhi, July 28(HS): The domestic stock market faced early trading pressure today, starting with a decline. After the market opened, buyer activity briefly pushed both Sensex and Nifty into positive territory, but renewed selling pressure led to declines again. By 10 AM, Sensex was down by 0.19%, while Nifty was down by 0.12%. Key gainers included Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors, Grasim Industries, and Tata Consumer Products, with increases between 2.22% and 0.74%.

In contrast, Kotak Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and Bharti Airtel experienced declines ranging from 6.50% to 0.78%. Of the 2,465 actively traded stocks, 1,365 were profitable, while 1,100 were in negative territory.

In the Sensex, 16 out of 30 shares were in positive territory, and 14 were under selling pressure. For Nifty, 28 out of 50 shares traded positively, and 22 were negatively impacted. The BSE’s Sensex opened at 81,299.97, down 163.12 points, briefly rising to 81,478.05 in the first 20 minutes before falling again to 81,306.34 by 10 AM.

The NSE’s Nifty opened at 24,782.45, down 54.55 points, rose to 24,854.70 shortly after, and by 10 AM, was down by 31 points at 24,806. On the previous trading day, Friday, Sensex closed down 721.08 points or 0.88%, and Nifty fell by 225.10 points or 0.90%.
