
New Delhi, 05 February (HS): The domestic stock market today witnessed fluctuating conditions during early trade. Today’s trade started strongly. In the first half hour of trade, the stock market gained momentum with the support of buying, but after that, due to selling pressure, both Sensex and Nifty indices declined. After the first one hour of trade, Sensex was trading with a weakness of 0.16 percent and Nifty with a slight strength of 0.03 percent.
After the first one hour of trade, among the major stocks of the stock market, shares of BPCL, Indusind Bank, Hindalco Industries, ONGC and Coal India were trading with strength ranging from 2.87 percent to 1.83 percent. On the other hand, shares of Asian Paints, Titan Company, Nestle, Tata Consumer Products and Britannia were seen trading with weakness ranging from 4.21 percent to 1.37 percent.
So far, active trading was taking place in 2,384 shares in the stock market. Out of these, 1,924 shares were trading in the green mark by making profit, while 460 shares were trading in the red mark by suffering loss. Similarly, out of the 30 shares included in the Sensex, 14 shares remained in the green mark with the support of buying. On the other hand, 16 shares were trading in the red mark due to selling pressure. While out of the 50 shares included in the Nifty, 33 shares were seen trading in the green mark and 17 shares in the red mark.
The BSE Sensex today opened at 78,704.60 points with a gain of 120.79 points. After the start of trading, the index jumped to 78,735.41 points with the support of buying, but after the first half hour of trading, the index slipped into the red due to profit booking. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, the Sensex was trading at 78,459.52 points with a weakness of 124.29 points.
Like the Sensex, NSE’s Nifty today started trading at the level of 23,801.75 points, jumping 62.50 points. After the market opened, the index jumped to 23,807.30 with the support of buying, but after this, due to the pressure of selling, this index also dived into the red mark. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, Nifty was trading at 23,747 points with a symbolic gain of 7.75 points.
Earlier on the last trading day on Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 78,583.81 points with a gain of 1,397.07 points i.e. 1.81 percent. At the same time, Nifty ended Tuesday’s trading at 23,739.25 points with a gain of 378.20 points i.e. 1.62 percent.
