Stock market rises early; bullish trend for Sensex, Nifty

New Delhi, May 21 (HS):The domestic stock market is experiencing a bullish trend early today, beginning the trading session strongly. After an initial period of minor fluctuations, buyers began to dominate, resulting in an upward movement. After the first hour, the Sensex was up by 0.68% and Nifty by 0.72%. Major gainers included Bharat Electronics, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, and Apollo Hospitals, with increases between 3.53% and 1.37%. Conversely, Shriram Finance, Eternal, Hindalco Industries, IndusInd Bank, and Kotak Mahindra witnessed declines between 2.09% and 0.54%.

During this session, 2,375 shares traded, of which 1,803 gained, while 572 declined. Within the Sensex, 27 of the 30 shares were buoyed by buying support, while 3 faced selling pressure. Similarly, in Nifty, 43 out of 50 shares were in the green. The Sensex opened with a gain of 141.17 points at 81,327.61, briefly fluctuating before surging nearly 600 points by 10 AM to 81,786.25, though it later experienced a slight drop.

By 10:15 AM, the Sensex was at 81,735.77 with a gain of 549.33 points. Nifty opened with a 60.35 point rise at 24,744.25, saw brief fluctuations, and surged to 24,864.50 by 10 AM, before a subsequent slight decline. At 10:15 AM, Nifty was at 24,861.40, up 177.50 points. On the previous day, the Sensex closed down by 872.98 points (1.06%), and Nifty fell by 261.55 points (1.05%).
