Lakhimpur (Assam), 24 April (HS): On Wednesday night, strong storm and torrential rain caused heavy destruction in the Dhakhwakhana Samajila area. In this natural disaster, many houses and courtyards were destroyed, electric poles and huge trees broke and fell on the roads, due to which the communication system in the entire area came to a standstill.
Mainly houses and trees have suffered heavy damage in Gandhiya, Dhenukhana Batmari, Shingia Panchayats. Storm and rain wreaked havoc in many villages including Gandhiya, Gharamara, Vijaypur, Kathalpara, Nav Madhupur and Madhupur Bagan of the West Machkhuwa area and disrupted life.
Along with this, reports of destruction caused by storm and rain are also coming from other rural areas, where many families have become homeless and there was a state of panic at night.
Apart from this, waterlogging has occurred on many main roads of the Dhakwakhana Nagar Parishad area. Electricity supply has come to a complete standstill. Traffic has been completely disrupted on many roads due to large trees falling on the roads.————–
