New Delhi, May 5 (HS): The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has successfully tested face authentication technology during the NEET UG 2025 examination in New Delhi. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA).
According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the test was successful. This initiative also demonstrated that Aadhaar face authentication could be a secure, scalable, and student-friendly solution for large-scale examinations. It may also help prevent identity-related fraud in the examination system in the future. The purpose of this test was to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of Aadhaar-based face authentication for verifying candidates’ identities. It was integrated with NIC’s digital system and NTA’s examination processes at selected examination centers.
The face authentication technology was implemented using the Aadhaar biometric database in real-time. This made the process completely contactless and quick. The results of the test indicated a high level of accuracy and efficiency in verifying candidates’ identities.
