Damascus, March 8 (HS): Syria is once again in the grip of civil war. The bloody conflict that began on Thursday between the country’s new regime and supporters of former President Bashar al-Assad is continuing. So far, about 200 people have lost their lives in this conflict. In December, the rebels removed Assad from power, after which this phase of violence has started in Syria for the first time.
Last year, peace was being claimed in Syria, which was burning in the fire of civil war for 14 years, when the rebel group led by the Islamic group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham took over the power of the country. Former President Bashar al-Assad left the country and took refuge in Russia. However, violence started again on Thursday only after a few months.
According to news agency Sana, government security forces tried to detain a wanted person near the coastal city of Jableh and Assad’s supporters protested against this and attacked the security forces.
Since then, security forces have been attacking former President Assad supporters. This action of the security forces is especially going on in those areas where Assad’s supporters and his family have a stronghold. A similar bloody clash took place between security forces and gunmen in Syria’s coastal province of Latakia in which 70 people died.
