Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai Protests Delimitation Issue, Calls it Artificial

Chennai, 22 March (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai led a black flag protest outside the Joint Committee meeting on delimitation, calling the issue artificial ¹. Annamalai criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for prioritizing the delimitation issue over pressing state matters.

The protest came as the first Joint Committee meeting on delimitation, called by Stalin, got underway. Annamalai accused Stalin of focusing on political gains rather than addressing genuine concerns like the Mekkadatu and Mullaperiyar dams.

Stalin has been advocating for fair measures in the delimitation process, citing concerns that it could potentially reduce political representation for southern states. However, Annamalai argued that Stalin’s focus on delimitation diverts attention from Tamil Nadu’s pressing concerns.

The protest highlights the growing tensions between the BJP and the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu, with the delimitation issue becoming a point of contention.
