
Chennai, 22 April (H.S.) : The Tamil Nadu government has announced a week-long celebration to mark the birth anniversary of celebrated Tamil poet Bharathidasan. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin made the announcement, highlighting the poet’s significant contribution to Tamil literature and his role in the freedom movement.
The celebrations, scheduled from April 29 to May 5, will feature a series of events honoring Bharathidasan’s legacy. The events will include literary seminars, poetry recitals, and cultural performances that showcase the poet’s works and ideals. These events will be held across the state, with various government departments and cultural organizations participating.
Bharathidasan, born on April 29, 1891, is celebrated for his powerful poems that inspired many to fight for independence and social equality. His works highlighted the importance of social justice and women’s rights, and his ideas continue to resonate with people today.
