Dhaka, May 16 (H.S.): Bangladeshi fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has praised the team’s new fast bowling coach, Shawn Tait. He stated that the former Australian fast bowler’s joining the team will particularly benefit them in T20 cricket. Taskin made this statement during an interaction with journalists at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Taskin said, He (Tait) was a very good fast bowler and played for Australia for a long time. The most important thing is that we have a lot of T20 cricket coming up, and he has played in the modern T20 era. In this context, he has experience in major tournaments, which will benefit us.
He further added, When you are in a national setup, coaches help with game awareness and some technical aspects, but most bowlers have to coach themselves. However, when you have a big personality like Tait with you, things become easier.
Currently, Taskin is recovering from an ankle injury. He mentioned that he has completed five sessions so far and has also started light bowling.
Taskin said, The cricket board’s physio, trainer, and a specialist from England are working together on a rehab plan. So far, there haven’t been any issues, and if everything goes well, I hope to return for the Sri Lanka series in June.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has recently appointed Shawn Tait as the fast bowling coach. Previously, Andre Adams held this role, but the board decided not to continue with him. Tait has experience in playing and coaching T20 cricket around the world and has taken over 200 wickets in T20s.
