Telangana: Contestants of Miss World 2025 from 22 countries visit Buddhavanam on Buddha Purnima

Hyderabad, 12 May (H.S.): On Buddha Purnima, contestants of Miss World 2025 from 22 countries visited Buddhavanam, a unique Buddhist theme park in Nalgonda district, near the Krishna river. They engaged in meditation and spiritual programs, while noted archaeologist E. Sivanagi Reddy highlighted the park’s significance. The contestants were captivated by the sculptures depicting the life of Gautama Buddha. Spread over 279 acres, Buddhavanam, adjacent to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, showcases important elements of Buddha’s life, including Buddha Charitha Vanam, Jataka Park, Dhyana Vanam, Stupa Vanam, and an in-house Buddhist Heritage Museum. Prior to this visit, they participated in a photo shoot at Vijay Vihar near the dam.

The diverse representatives hailed from countries including India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, and many others. Following their time at Buddhavanam, the contestants plan to engage in a heritage walk at Charminar and attend a dinner at the historic Chowmahalla Palace on May 13, supported by comprehensive security and logistical measures.

The Miss World 2025 event commenced with a grand ceremony in Hyderabad on May 10 and will run until May 31. The Telangana government aims to enhance the state’s global image and attract investments through this prestigious event, with planned visits to various historical attractions.
