24 April (H.S.): Mayawati decried the Pahalgam terror assault, which killed 26
tourists, and criticized security failures.
To avoid similar deaths, she asked the BJP-led Centre to be accountable
and take prompt action, prioritizing national security over partisan
conflicts.The BSP head has severely
denounced the latest Pahalgam terror assault, describing it as a horrific
tragedy. She questioned security
precautions at this popular tourist destination, characterizing the incident as
very upsetting and distressing. The
attack, which killed 26 tourists in south Kashmir’s Anantnag region, was
described as the bloodiest since the 2019 Pulwama atrocity. Mayawati underlined widespread fury, urging
that the BJP-led Centre accept responsibility for the security lapse and
guarantee accountability. Mayawati
emphasized the importance of national security, urging the administration to
take urgent measures to rebuild public trust and prevent future events, rather
than indulging in political blame games.
