Dehradun, May 20 (HS): Three young cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Uttarakhand have exemplified courage and determination by hoisting the tricolor on Mount Everest, achieving this historic feat on May 18. Their successful ascent to the world’s highest peak included Veerendra Samant from the 29 Uttarakhand Battalion, Mukul Bangwal from the 4 Uttarakhand Battalion, and Sachin Kumar from the 3 Uttarakhand Battalion. This accomplishment serves as a testament to the power of dreams and hard work, proving that no goal is unattainable.

Cadet Veerendra Samant emphasized that their victory represents all young people with aspirations, highlighting the importance of self-belief and teamwork in overcoming challenges. The NCC organized this expedition to inspire Indian youth towards adventure sports, leadership, and self-reliance, as the cadets faced adverse weather and mental fatigue. Major General Rohan Anand remarked on the significance of their achievement, encouraging a generation to confront their fears and strive for greatness.
