Washington, March 04 (HS): The Trump administration has paused U.S. military aid to Ukraine, the White House confirmed Monday. It’s the latest fallout days after a contentious meeting between President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House erupted into an open dispute in front of TV cameras.
According to CNN news, President Trump issued this order after a heated debate with the President of Ukraine in the Oval Office last week. President Trump has made it clear that his focus is on peace. Ukraine also needs to be committed to this goal. The White House official said, military aid to Ukraine is being stopped after the President’s order.
Officials and analysts said that this decision will have a big impact on Ukraine. This could have a serious impact on Ukraine’s ability to fight the war. A White House official said that this ban will remain in place until Zelensky is ready for a peace talks agreement. However, despite the open hostility between Washington and Kiev, many European countries have promised to support Ukraine.
Mark Cancian, senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that Ukraine will not feel the impact of this ban immediately but within two to four months. The help of European countries will help Kyiv to stay in the fight now. Ultimately Ukraine will have to accept an unfavorable peace agreement.
