Calgary, June 17 (H.S.): U.S. President Donald Trump has departed from the G-7 summit in Calgary, Canada, one day early due to rising tensions in the Middle East. He emphasized the urgency for Iranian citizens to leave Tehran immediately, signaling an escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Trump stated, I need to get back to America as soon as possible, highlighting his priority to monitor the situation closely.
Although he initially planned to stay until Tuesday, the White House indicated that a return to the U.S. was necessary. While at the summit, Trump voiced optimism about Iran wanting to negotiate a deal, suggesting that progress might occur after his departure. Tensions arose when Trump hesitated to sign a G-7 joint statement aimed at de-escalating the conflict, but he eventually signed it after modifying it to his liking.
Additionally, he instructed his team to prepare immediate meetings with Iranian officials, indicating proactive diplomatic efforts even amid the crisis. Trump’s message on social media reiterated the urgency for Iranians to vacate Tehran.
