German Chancellor Friedrich Merz revealed he spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while leaders from France and Britain sought to connect with Trump prior to his discussion with Putin.
This dialogue emerges amid Russia’s largest assault on Ukraine, featuring nearly 273 explosive drones. Additionally, Pope Leo XIV has offered to mediate peace talks between Ukraine and Russia at the Vatican, following his personal meeting with Zelensky. The Pope expressed a genuine desire to aid in ending the conflict and emphasized the Vatican’s readiness to facilitate discussions, stating, The Holy Faith is always ready to bring enemies face to face. Cardinal Pietro Parolin highlighted the Vatican as an availability of space for the talks.
