
New Delhi, June 24(HS): The announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire between Iran and Israel has positively influenced the U.S. stock market, with early trading indicating a rise of over one percent. Initially, the Sensex and Nifty indices gained, with the Sensex trading 1.06 percent higher after the first hour. Key stocks such as Adani Ports, Jio Financial, Shriram Finance, Ultratech Cement, and Larsen & Toubro saw gains between 4.14 percent and 1.66 percent, while NTPC, ONGC, IndusInd Bank, Bharat Electronics, and Tata Consumer Products faced declines ranging from 2.90 percent to 0.05 percent.
In total, 2,466 stocks were traded, with 2,025 in the green and 441 in the red. Among the 30 stocks in the Sensex, 28 showed gains and 2 faced losses. The BSE Sensex opened at 82,534.61, climbing to 82,835.39 before profit booking caused it to drop to 82,360.04. Ultimately, it traded at 82,766.77, up 869.98 points by 10:15 AM. Similarly, the Nifty opened at 25,179.90 and briefly rose to 25,250.85, before falling to 25,118.50 due to profit booking, ultimately reaching 25,237.50, up 265.60 points at 10:15 AM. On the previous trading day, both Sensex and Nifty closed lower, indicating a contrasting market sentiment before today’s opening surge.
