
New Delhi, March 17 (HS): Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) of the United States, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday.
The Prime Minister gifted Tulsi Gabbard a pot of Ganga water from the Prayagraj Kumbh, to which she responded with a mala made of tulsi beads. Gabbard highlighted the historical and strengthening relationship between the US and India, emphasizing mutual interests in peace, prosperity, freedom, and security. She praised Prime Minister Modi and President Trump as friends committed to shared goals.
Gabbard noted Modi’s visit to the US post-Trump’s inauguration and mentioned discussions with various counterparts, including the Defense Minister. She underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration in intelligence, trade, and defense, particularly in countering Islamic terrorism, which threatens both nations. Gabbard acknowledged Modi’s seriousness on this issue and expressed the need for both leaders to cooperate. Reflecting on her personal life, she shared that the wisdom of Lord Krishna from the Gita guides her through life’s challenges, highlighting her Hindu American identity.
