New Delhi, March 27 (HS): In a significant blow to the separatist movement in Jammu and Kashmir, two more groups, J&K Tehreek-e-Isteqlal and J&K Tehreek-e-Istikamat, have severed all ties with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on X Post on Thursday that there is more good news coming from the Kashmir Valley. Two more groups linked to Hurriyat, J&K Tehreek-e-Isteqlal and J&K Tehreek-e-Istikamat, have renounced separatism and expressed their trust in the new India created by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the Modi government, separatism is on its last breaths and the echoes of unity are being heard in Kashmir.
It is noteworthy that previously, on March 25, two organizations associated with the Hurriyat Conference, JK People’s Movement and Democratic Political Movement, had also announced the abandonment of separatist activities. This development occurred just days after the Ministry of Home Affairs declared the Awami Action Committee led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the Jammu and Kashmir Ittehadul Muslimin led by Masroor Abbas Ansari as banned organizations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, for a period of five years.
