London, March 03 (HS): British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made an important announcement yesterday. He said on the Russia and Ukraine war ,we are at a crossroads in history. European countries will protect Ukraine from Russia. If needed, an alliance will be prepared against Russia.

According to The New York Times, Starmer made this announcement after a meeting of 18 European leaders in London. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also attended the meeting. Starmer said that many other countries have indicated that they are with Britain and France on this issue. In the event of a ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow, troops can be deployed in Ukraine. He also announced a plan to allow Ukraine to use 1.6 billion pounds in British export financing to buy more than 5,000 air defense missiles.

Starmer said he spoke to US President Donald Trump on Saturday night. He believes that coming together with the United States can lead to a positive result. According to CNN, at the summit held at Lancaster House in London, Keir Starmer said the current tension between Kiev and Washington is a matter of concern for the continent. So this is not the moment for more talks. It is time to take action.

He said that it is natural for Moscow to be happy with what happened with Zelensky in the Oval Office of America. Starmer told reporters that he is working with France and some other countries to prepare a plan to stop the fighting. As soon as the plan is finalized, it will be presented to the US. Zelensky has been given a lot of importance in the London visit. King Charles met Zelensky at his Sandringham estate on Sunday.
