UK MP Tandhesi raises Pahalgam terror attack incident in British Parliament

MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi has expressed sorrow over the terrorist attack in pahalgam

London, April 25 (H.S.): The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, resonated in the British Parliament on Thursday. Slough MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi expressed his sorrow during his speech, offering prayers for the victims’ families. He lamented the cowardly, deadly, and shocking attack on innocent tourists, linking it to the broader context of mourning for Pope Francis.

Dhesi also called for justice against the perpetrators and highlighted the situation in Gaza, advocating for an end to Israeli violence there. Lucy Powell, the leader of the House of Commons, echoed Dhesi’s sentiments, denouncing the attack as a cowardly act and extending British government sympathies to those affected.

Additionally, the Indian High Commission in the UK held a memorial ceremony at India House to honor the victims. Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami noted that the attack aimed to disrupt the normal lives of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. Various dignitaries attended the commemorative event.
