KYIV, Ukraine, 25 October (H.S.): On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a grave warning, stating his nation is facing an impending humanitarian disaster as the harsh winter season approaches. The declaration comes amid a relentless barrage of Russian strikes that have systematically targeted and crippled the country’s critical infrastructure.

President Zelensky detailed a grim outlook for millions of citizens, who are now confronting the prospect of severe power shortages, significant food insecurity, and the potential for mass displacement. He underscored that the ongoing conflict has severely compromised Ukraine’s ability to provide basic necessities.

In a direct plea to international partners, Zelensky urgently requested an escalation in aid from Western allies, specifically highlighting the critical need for advanced air defense systems to protect against Russia’s aerial assaults and prevent a full-scale crisis from unfolding.
