
New Delhi, 24 February (HS): Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated Prakriti 2025 organized in the capital New Delhi on Monday. This conference is aimed at promoting strength, awareness, knowledge and resources to integrate transformative climate-related initiatives.
The Ministry of Energy said in a statement that Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the program. The minister shared the vision of the Government of India about the important role of carbon markets in tackling climate change. He emphasized the importance of turning to renewable energy (RE) to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and achieve emission targets.
The Union Minister also highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage and traditional practices like Ganga Deep Puja and Govardhan Puja, which reflect the country’s deep ecological consciousness and can complement modern efforts at sustainability. Additionally, he underscored the need for climate policies that ensure real, verifiable and fraud-free carbon reductions that make India’s transition to sustainability ambitious and achievable. On the occasion, Dheeraj Srivastava, Chief Engineer, Ministry of Power welcomed the distinguished guests, leading industrialists and international experts and expressed gratitude for their presence. He acknowledged the importance of collaboration in shaping India’s sustainable energy future.
