
Guwahati, 12 March (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming Assam for three days from March 14. During which he will participate in the inauguration program at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon. Shah will address the All Bodo Students’ Union’s (ABSU) annual conference in Kokrajhar during his visit.
On March 15, Shah is scheduled to open the police academy before heading to Mizoram. Later, he will return to Guwahati for an overnight stay. The following day, March 16, he will deliver a speech at the 57th ABSU annual conference before departing for Delhi.
The ABSU conference, starting March 13 at Dotma in Kokrajhar district, aims to bring together policymakers, educators, and community leaders. Discussions will revolve around education, skill development, and the impact of NEP 2020 on regional learning. Experts will analyze ways to strengthen academic frameworks and empower youth through better employment opportunities.
A special session will reflect on ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma’s contributions to social and cultural reforms, while another panel will explore peace and sustainable development in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The final day’s open session will feature Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, senior ministers, and parliamentarians, focusing on policy-making for education and economic growth.
