UP announces massive gas subsidy for festive season

Lucknow,

12 March (HS): In a big effort to enhance living conditions

in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a significant

project to offer gas cylinder refill subsidies to 1.86 crore eligible people. The program, which is part of the Pradhan

Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, has an allocation of Rs 1,890 crores to assist

participants throughout the festival season.

During the function in Lucknow on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath stated, ‘Today’s distribution of free cooking gas cylinders

demonstrates our commitment to improve lives.

This is particularly important as we approach festivals such as Holi and

Ramadan. The state government has

allocated Rs. 3,760 crores for the entire plan, indicating a strong commitment

to the cause.

The effort not only intends to provide availability

to cooking gas, but also to emphasize food security, particularly during crises

like the COVID-19 epidemic. Highlighting

this, the Chief Minister underscored continuous efforts to assist all

low-income households, as well as other social initiatives like as the Chief

Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana.
