New Delhi, Aug 26 (HS): A thunderous century from Adarsh Singh and a fiery spell by Shubham Mishra propelled Kanpur Superstars to a commanding 128-run victory over Kashi Rudras in the 19th match of the UP T20 League at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Put in to bat after losing the toss, Kanpur endured a shaky start, losing early wickets and crawling to 54/2 after 10 overs. But Adarsh Singh turned the tide with a breathtaking knock. Displaying patience early on, he shifted gears explosively, racing to his hundred in just 51 balls. He remained unbeaten on 113 from 55 deliveries, laced with 12 sixes—10 of which came in the final 19 balls. His late flourish included 23 runs in the 18th over, 27 in the 19th, and a staggering 29 off the final over. Alongside Faiz Ahmed, he stitched a 113-run stand for the fourth wicket, with Faiz contributing only 22. Kanpur finished with a daunting 198/3 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Kashi Rudras’ chase imploded right from the start. Skipper Karan Sharma fell LBW on the first ball, and Ankur Sharma struck twice to leave them tottering at 27/4 by the seventh over. Shubham Mishra then delivered a devastating spell, claiming 5 wickets for just 6 runs in 3 overs as Rudras collapsed to 70 all out in 15 overs.

Adarsh Singh was named Player of the Match for his whirlwind century, while Shubham Mishra’s lethal bowling sealed Kanpur’s emphatic win.
