A two-minute silence observed in the all-party meeting

New Delhi, April 24 (H.S.): An all-party meeting convened by the central government at the Parliament Annex paid tribute to the Pahalgam terror attack victims with a two-minute silence. Chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, the meeting included Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar discussing key topics.

Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi arrived later on a personal invitation from the Home Minister. Parties collectively reaffirmed their commitment to prioritize national security and unity over political divides.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh provided all the leaders with detailed information about the attack. He mentioned that the attack occurred at a time when the economy of Jammu and Kashmir was advancing rapidly, and there was a noticeable upsurge in the tourism sector. The government believes that the purpose of this attack was to create instability in Jammu and Kashmir and to disrupt the atmosphere.

The Defence Minister also informed that several important decisions have been taken in the emergency meeting of the Cabinet Security Committee (CSC) regarding this incident. The central theme of these decisions is the government’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. He clarified that the government is committed to taking strict measures against any such attempts in the future.

After the meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke to the media and said, “This meeting was very positive. All political parties have unitedly supported the government in the fight against terrorism. All leaders clearly stated that they stand with the government in its actions against terrorists under any circumstances.”

Rijiju further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government firmly believe that terrorism will not be tolerated at any cost. This message has been conveyed throughout the country through this meeting, emphasizing that Indian politics is united on issues like terrorism, and all parties stand together for national security.At the end of the meeting, all leaders emphasized that India must fight against terrorism strongly and collectively. This consensus among all parties reassures the citizens that any decision against terrorism will be taken above political differences.

During the all-party meeting organized by the central government at the Parliament Annex building, a tribute was paid to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. There was a two-minute silence observed at the start of the meeting in their honor. The meeting, chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It included prominent leaders from almost all parties.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other opposition leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, were present. AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi joined the meeting a bit late, stating that the Home Minister personally called him to attend.

After the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that an all-party meeting was convened today to discuss the Pahalgam terrorist attack. All of us condemned the Pahalgam incident strongly. Establishing peace in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely important, for which the government must make serious efforts. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that all parties condemned the terrorist attack. The opposition has given full support to the government for any action.
