Virat Kohli Becomes 7th Indian Cricketer to Play 300 ODIs

Dubai, March 02 (HS): Indian cricket team’s star batsman Virat Kohli has achieved another major milestone in ODIs as soon as he entered the Champions Trophy match against New Zealand on Sunday. This is Kohli’s 300th match of his ODI career. In this way, he has become the seventh player to play 300 ODIs for India.

In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team is playing its last group match against New Zealand on Sunday. In the match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Indian team is batting. This match is very special for former captain and star batsman Virat Kohli. This match is the 300th ODI match of Kohli’s career. He has joined the club of legends like great batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Mahendra Singh Dhoni who have played this many or more ODIs in their careers. Kohli became the seventh Indian player- Virat Kohli has become the seventh player to play 300 ODI matches. Before him, six players from India have played 300 or more ODI matches. Former Indian great batsman Sachin Tendulkar is at the top among them. He has played 463 ODI matches. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at number two, who has played 347 ODI matches. Rahul Dravid has played 340, Mohammad Azharuddin 334, Sourav Ganguly 308 and Yuvraj Singh has played 301 ODI matches. Now Kohli’s name has also been added to this special list.

BCCI congratulated- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has congratulated Kohli on playing his 300th ODI match. BCCI wrote in a post on social media that congratulations to Virat Kohli for his 300th ODI match.

Made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2008- Virat Kohli made his debut in the ODI format against Sri Lanka in the year 2008. Since then his performance in this format has been excellent. Before this match, Kohli has scored 14 thousand 85 runs in 299 ODI matches at an average of 58.20. Kohli has 51 centuries and 73 half-centuries to his name in ODIs.
