
Bhopal, April 12 (H.S.): To celebrate the legacy of Samrat Vikramaditya and the Vikram Samvat, a grand theatrical performance, “Mahanatya Samrat Vikramaditya,” will take place at Madhavdas Park in the Red Fort, New Delhi, from April 12 to 14. Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the cultural event “Vikramotsav” at 7 PM today on April 12, with attendance from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, and Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The festival will also feature exhibitions focused on Vikramaditya and Ayodhya, archaeological coins from his era, cultural legacy of Greater Bharat, and showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s tourism and investment opportunities. Visitors can enjoy authentic Madhya Pradesh cuisine at a dedicated food court.
The theatrical narrative, spanning from Samrat Vikramaditya’s birth to coronation, will involve around 125 artists and a 50-member crew, integrating horses, chariots, and camels to enhance realism. The presentation will utilize three stages and employ special effects with LED graphics to create an immersive experience.
“Vikramotsav 2025” aims to elevate Madhya Pradesh’s cultural heritage and tourism on a global platform, emphasizing Vikramaditya’s historical significance. It will also include food stalls highlighting traditional dishes, along with information about tourism initiatives, AR/VR storytelling, and a holographic display of Baba Mahakal. A dedicated area will showcase Madhya Pradesh’s crafts like Gond art and terracotta, promoting local artisans and handmade products.
